| From The East - Jan & Feb, 2010 |
Dear Brothers: I hope everyone’s holidays have been enjoyable and memorable. I want to thank you for having the confidence to elect me to the seat in the east. Congratulations to our elected officers and my personal thanks to all our appointees for accepting places in the lodge. My goal as master this year is to get our brethren even more energized and involved. To that end, we will be adding and removing routine and fun activities throughout 2010, as interest and desires of the brethren dictate. Our activities will show up on our trestle board but keep an eye on the Ionic #110 web calendar to see what else is hopping in our district and at grand lodge. We will also be setting up two committees; 1) education and, 2) outreach. We will be working with Eastern Star #44 on the 4th Wednesday of every month on degree work. The outreach concept has been used by other lodges to keep in touch with the brethren that have become less active. More information will be provided at a later date. We have many activities planned for the year. Some of the activities on our schedule are as follows; 1) present each of the three Masonic degrees in our lodge (at least once each), 2) make at least four visitations to other lodges (in state and out of state), 3) continue to support the local Irish Dancers, 4) provide our annual Citizenship Awards, 5) have a Valentine’s Day “Ladies Table” dinner, 6) have a Table Lodge, 7) CIPS programs and, 8) others. We will be starting the year off with the following activities. We will be starting January 3rd with a semi public installation of offices. Our 1st stated communication meeting on the 12th and an EA degree is tentatively scheduled for January 21st. Don’t forget, Blue Lodge Council meets on January 29th. We are scheduled in February for a Stated Communications meeting on the 9th , Ladies at the Table event on the 18th and FC degree on the 24th . This should be a good start for our year. I look forward to serving our lodge in 2010. It is going to be a great year for IONIC#110. Fraternally,
