Dear Brothers,

                Happy Holidays to all!  First I want to thank you for the honor of electing me as your Worshipful Master for 2009.  I wish to congratulate the elected officers and to thank my appointed officers for accepting their positions.

                My goals for this year are to increase attendance at Lodge meetings and to increase Lodge membership.  Naturally this requires your active participation at our scheduled Lodge events.  I will try to have a variety of programs of interest for Brothers, families, and guests with a supper prior to each meeting.  If you have a suggestion on a program you would like to see us have, please contact me.  In addition, I will schedule visitations around the District and to interesting programs and events around the state.  I hope a number of Brothers will join me during these fraternal visits.

               I congratulate Ashlar Lodge under dispensation (to be Ashlar Lodge No. 332 when chartered) and to our own R.W. Irving M. Pease for being appointed as the first Worshipful Master.  I attended their first meeting on December 8, 2008 and it was a great meeting.  Best wishes for a successful new lodge.  Ask me about the Lodge number of 332!

               Note the Blue Lodge Council meeting on January 29^th at Putnam Lodge 46, South Woodstock.  Let's have a good turnout from Ionic Lodge.  This is a fun way to meet other Brothers from our entire district and hear of events they have coming up in heir lodges.  I look forward to seeing each of you in Lodge.  If you need a ride to attend any of our meetings or events, just call me or any of the officers and a ride will be arranged.

              Our annual inspection by our District Deputy, R.W. Howard B. Schiller, DD-9B, is scheduled for March 10, 2009, on the Entered Apprentice Degree.  All Lodge Officers to be in their stations.
